You will be welcomed into South Korea with a transfer to the Four Seasons Seoul and time to freshen up after your international flight. If you’re feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, explore Seoul a little on your own. You’re sure to be wowed by this bustling metropolis, which burst onto the world’s stage in 1988 when it hosted the Summer Olympics.

This evening, you’ll meet your fellow travelers and enjoy a welcome dinner at the Korea House, which will include a traditional Korean performance.

Day 2 – Seoul
Sunday, October 16, 2022

This morning, head to Gyeongbokgung Palace, which dates to 1395, and then Bukchon Hanok Village. Here, you’ll see hundreds of traditional houses dating to the Joseon Dynasty and now operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants, and tea houses, allowing guests to learn about traditional Korean culture. Try on traditional Korean clothing called hanbok, used today for special occasions like anniversaries or festive days. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional lunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll try your hand at gold leaf imprinting at Kum Bak Yeon, a small local studio that has passed this tradition down for over five generations. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing foot bath at Seoul K-Medi Center, which features many traditional Korean medicines, an Herbal Medicine Museum, and more. While you’re here, you can also choose to partake in an informal traditional Korean check-up if you’d like, in which the doctor will recommend holistic techniques to improve your overall wellness. This evening’s dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 3 – Seoul
Monday, October 17, 2022

Rise early for an invigorating hike at Inwangsan Mountain trail, which will last about an hour and a half. Hiking is a favorite pastime of many Korean people, which is a good thing considering the Korean Peninsula is about 80 percent mountainous!

After your hike, experience a traditional cooking class, where you’ll learn about Korean cuisine and try your hand at a few dishes before sitting down to lunch, sampling the delectable dishes you’ve just created.

After lunch, visit Aquafield Goyan, home to luxurious spas and a rooftop pool, for a traditional Korean spa experience with the theme of “Healing and Feeling.” Dinner this evening will be at a local restaurant.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner

Day 4 – Seoul
Tuesday, October 18, 2022

After yesterday’s early start, you’ll be rewarded today with time at leisure this morning to relax at your hotel or explore the local neighborhood at your own pace. We particularly recommend a nice walk or jog in the Songpa Naru Park, a public park with two lakes and many trails. Meet up with the group for lunch at a local restaurant.

Afterwards, visit the Sulwhasoo Flagship Store, a luxury Korean skincare brand renowned for high-quality herbal-based products. Continue on to Cheongdam Fashion Street for a visit to Boon the Shop, a fashion boutique highlighting lesser-known brands and up-and-coming designers.

This evening, enjoy a food tour at Gwangjang Market, which began as a small trading center but has bloomed into a large wholesale market. Cap the day off with dinner at a local restaurant.

Board a bullet train to zip off to Busan, South Korea’s second largest city and home to the country’s longest river and beach. It is best known for its beaches, nature reserves, hot springs, and international appeal. Your luggage will have been sent ahead to the Park Hyatt Busan, so the whole experience is hassle free! When you arrive, have lunch with the group at a local restaurant.

With your appetite sated, it’s time to head out to the Shinsegae Centum City, the world’s largest shopping complex, for some serious retail therapy. You’ll have time to independently explore the complex and visit its spas. Along with shops and restaurants, you’ll also find a driving range, ice skating rink, CGV multiplex cinema, and Spa Land.

When you’ve shopped until you dropped, refresh yourself with a stroll on Haeundae Beach’s impressive boardwalk, which is saturated with tantalizing street food, bars, and clubs. Enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner

Day 6 – Busan
Thursday, October 20, 2022

Begin the day at a fish market, which is fitting given that Busan is known as a seafood paradise. Jagalchi Fish Market is a huge part of the city’s identity, and it is sure to awaken all of your senses as you inspect the weird and wonderful sea creatures on display. Afterwards, stroll down Nampo Street, where you’ll find bustling alleys selling vintage clothes, books, and street food. You may also want to pop over to Seomyeon Street, where you’ll find more shopping, food, and entertainment.

Visit the architecturally stunning Beomeo-sa Temple, perched on the slopes of a mountain surrounded by hiking trails and woodland. This quiet temple is a popular getaway for city dwellers looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

This evening brings with it a farewell dinner at a local restaurant followed by a visit to the local pojangmachas (drinking tents), a staple of the Korean people. Here, you’ll find a variety of appetizers and Korean beverages. Stick to the standard soju or try to the bokbunja raspberry wine for an especially sweet ending to your last night in South Korea.
