MONTECITO
Located 80 miles northwest of Los Angeles in Montecito’s idyllic seaside community, Rosewood Miramar Beach is a stunning new hotel built on the grounds of Miramar by the Sea, a historic resort dating back to the late 1800s. This past April, the ultra-luxury Bangkok Rosewood opened in the heart of the capital in Bangkok’s central business district. Rosewood Bangkok is situated within an enclave of embassies and sleek new office towers, surrounded by Thai fashion designer boutiques and is just steps from Central Embassy, the capital’s most luxurious upscale shopping mall.
Design-wise, it has all the local shout outs the hotel brand has become known for, including statuary inspired by the Thai wai, a form of hands pressed against one another, as well as an indoor waterfall that pays tribute to the many waterways around the city. Though in a place known for its spectacular hotel scene, Rosewood here stands out. We particularly like the top floor speakeasy, Lennon's, with its urban cool vibe, designer cocktails, 6,000-piece vinyl collection, and secret entrance.
HONG KONG
Soaring over Victoria Harbour, Rosewood Hong Kong is a new center of gravity on the Kowloon waterfront; the crown jewel of the Victoria Dockside arts and design district. On passing the gate and traversing the cobblestoned drive, the urban din falls away, revealing lush topiary and a serene forecourt that commands the harbor. The architect conceived the entire hotel as a “vertical estate” which incorporates significant green spaces and outdoor areas throughout, creating openness and room to breathe.
