Colombia is well and truly South America’s new gastronomic destination, and our pals at Galavanta have all the keys to unlock a true feast for the senses during your exploration of its various cities and regions.
We worked with our fabulous on-the-ground partners to put together this sample itinerary focused on art, culture, design, and gastronomy, giving you the chance to gain insider access to Colombia’s diverse and exquisite cuisine, exclusive experiences, awe-inspiring places, and fascinating people.

Day 1
Bogota Arrival
After flying from home to Bogota, you will be privately transferred on arrival to your home for the next three nights, the Four Seasons Casa Medina.
Take time to settle in before dinner this evening at El Chato, consistently ranked among Latin America’s best restaurants. Alternatively, you can choose to enjoy an exclusive dinner at the home of an art collector to gain intimate insight into Colombia’s vibrant art scene.

This landmark 1946 building offers colonial-style elegance right in the heart of Bogota. It was designed by Colombian artist-architect Santiago Medina Mejia and features some of the city’s most elegant, understated rooms. Day 2
Bogota
Begin your day exploring Paloquemao Market with a local chef to sample a variety of fruits, herbs, and flowers. Next, a member of the Botero family will meet you to show you around the Botero Museum, home to Maestro Fernando Botero’s personal collection.

In the afternoon, explore the history, politics, and street art of the La Candelaria historic district before meeting a local chef for some restaurant-hopping at some of Bogota’s top eateries.
Day 3
Bogota
Meet a local art curator this morning to discover some of the galleries in the San Felipe Art District, exploring both renowned and emerging artists while gaining insider access to the local art scene.
The rest of the day is spent on the world of design. First, take a private tour of the VERDI atelier for exclusive access to the brand’s unique textiles. Next, visit top Colombian design boutiques to learn how they blend traditional techniques and materials with contemporary designs.

Day 4
Medellin
This morning, take a short one-hour flight to Medellin, where you will be privately transferred to the El Cielo Hotel, home to the El Cielo restaurant by Juan Manuel Barrientos, the first Colombian chef to earn a Michelin star.
Once you’ve settled at the hotel, visit a coffee hacienda to learn about the coffee harvesting and roasting processes, ending with a coffee tasting session.
Later, enjoy an exclusive aguardiente tasting or a mixology class with exotic fruits, led by a local expert.
Of course, dinner tonight should be at El Cielo, with a tasting menu that is a journey in and of itself through Colombia’s different cultures and ecosystems.
Day 5
Medellin
Today will teach you all about Medellin’s fascinating social transformation from the most dangerous to one of the most innovative cities in the world. Meet locals, check out the street art, play paint-can drums, and visit the best spots for local street food with your private guide.

Tonight, we recommend cocktails at Mamba Negra and dinner at XO or Sambombi.
Day 6
Cartagena
This morning, check out of El Cielo and transfer to the airport for a one-hour flight to Cartagena. You will be privately transferred to the Four Seasons Cartagena, where you will stay for the next three nights.
Once you’re all checked in at the hotel, you’ll be treated to a feast both of taste and movement. First, enjoy a rum and chocolate tasting with a sommelier. Next, put on your dancing shoes to learn salsa during a private dance class with professional dancers.
Enjoy dinner tonight at La Vitrola, an iconic restaurant featuring classic Caribbean cuisine and live music.

Day 7
Cartagena
This morning, you’ll be met by a fascinating local expert to head out on the streets of the city’s historic center and the Getsemaní to learn about local life and culture. Next, a renowned local graffiti artist will meet you for a private street art workshop.
Later today, try your hand at the delectable local fare with a ceviche and Caribbean cooking class with one of Cartagena’s top chefs.
For dinner tonight, we recommend Rabo de Pez, a favorite spot for those seeking contemporary Colombian cuisine.

Day 8
Cartagena
It’s your last full day in Colombia, so why not do things in style? Spend the day on a private speedboat discovering the Rosario Islands archipelago for snorkeling and lunch at a relaxing beach club. Swoon!
Go out with a bang with dinner at Celele, taking in their distinct Caribbean flavors and their famous flower salad.
Day 9
Departure Day
After checking out of the hotel, you’ll be privately transferred to the airport in Cartagena for your onward travels home.
